Punch Art Elf Card

I made this little guy before Christmas, but just finally got a chance to post this.  This guy take a lot of pieces to create.  I didn't get a chance to create a tutorial, but here is a quick list.
Ornament Punch-hat and face
Owl punch - I used the small heart to make the ears and hands and bow, eyes and center of the bow
Oval- bite off the top of the hat, legs
Word window -Socks
Trio hearts-arms, and collar, feet
1/2" circle nose and puff on the hat
Large tab-shirt
I think that is everything.  I also used the Snowflake embossing folder and white craft ink to create a fun winter scene.  Feel free to email me for a better picture, or if I can, recreate him and post the pieces. I made a UPS guy clock once, and he is similar in concept to the body of the UPS guy.

Penguin Punch Art Card & Tutorial

 

We got snow in Virginia this week, and I felt inspired to make this cute little penguin with my Owl Punch.  I really do love that thing because there are so many different types of owls.

 

I also just got my new Northern Snowflake Embossing folder recently and needed to make a wintery scene for my little guy.

So to make a penguin you need...

The Two Step Owl Punch (#118074), the Heart to Heart Extra Large Punch (# 119881), and 1" Circle Punch (#119868)

 

Punch the Owl body, Large heart, and eyeball in Basic Black, and trim the feet off.  Punch the feet with a little extra space and small heart from the Heart to Heart Punch in Pumpkin Pie. Punch the eyes and tummy in Whisper White.  Punch another eye ball in Brushed Silver.

Cut the Silver eyeball in half.  Cut the Large heart in half.  You may need to trim the ears off the owl.

First adhere the feet to the back of the body, then add the whisper white tummy to the body.  

 

 Put it up slightly higher than normal (sorry, the step by step was a little lower than I meant to do)

Next add the flippers on the side of the body and trim the ears to fit.

 

Add the circle head on top of the body.

Follow up with the heart beak and eyes, and eyelids.  Last step is to add a touch of white to the eyes.

 

 So I got some feedback that the owl looked a little sad, so here are my ideas to fix that problem,  either remove the silver eyelids, or trim them into crescents to look more open and cheerful.

Butterflies Galore

This card was inspired by the Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper and the Embosslit Beautiful Wing Die from the Spring Occasions Mini, and the Big Shot Beautiful Butterfly Die. My Embosslit was on backorder for 2 weeks, and I was worried I would not get it in time for club! But it came Thursday and I went crazy.

The Embosslit makes 5 little butterflies of all different sizes and textures. It cuts and embosses in one step and uses tiny scraps of paper. I used Orchid Opulence, So saffron, Certainly Celery, and Shades of Spring for this card.

I cut my ds paper, then matted it with So Saffron. Both of those went down on the Certainly celery folded 5.5x4.25 cardsotck. I took some ds paper and some Orchid Opulence Cardstock in the Butterfly die making sure that my fold line was in the right place. Then I ran the large butterfly through my Texture folder to add more interest to the butterfly. Then I took 3 little half back pearls from my new Pretties Kit and applied them to my butterfly with crystal effects.

I stamped Happy Easter from my Teeny Tiny Wishes, although almost any saying from that stamp set would work well here, on a scrap of DS paper left over from my smaller butterfly dies and punched it out with my word window punch. Then I used dimensionals to pop every other tiny butterfly. The largest one went inside the card as a nice surprise.

Tinkerbell punch art

My friend's little girl just had a birthday and it was tinkerbelled themed so I had to try my hand at creative punch art. I looked up a few pictures of Tink to use for inspiration and got crazy.

The word window punch is amazing at what it can make, as is my heart to heart punch. I used that for the dress top, ears, arm on hip, hands, shoes, and wing bottoms.

My scallop punch was used for the skirt, but seriously trimmed down. I used the large oval for wings and face. I used circle punches (1/2" and 1") for hair. My regular size hole punch made the pompons on her shoes.

Colors:green galore,blush blossom, whisper white, summer sun for tink. I used cottage wall dsp and orchird opulence for the card

Next time I'll trim her legs down a bit.

Sale-A-Bration Valentine's Day card

Here is a card using materials from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Sale-A-Bration runs only from Jan until the end of March.

I used Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, and Whisper White. For tools I used my Big Shot with Texture Plates, and my Heart punch. I used 3 stamps sets for this. Teeny Tiny Wishes gave me my little saying, the Love You Much gave me my trio of hearts, and my Good neighbor gave me my wonderful little Houses. I just love my Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper! I need to get more!

For the Newlyweds Sneak Peak

Well, this is not really a major sneak peak. I am using Walk in the Park Designer series paper which retires at the end of the month. I used the grey side which to be honest I had not touched.To add a little more contrast to my paper, I outlined some of the lightest leaves on the paper with my white gel pen. I paired the DS paper with our Brushed Silver cardstock. I stamped the top half of the card using VersaMark and the coordinating leaf from the Great Friends stamp set. It added a very subtle print to the top half of my card. Then I scalloped the bottom edge of my card and then used my Snail adhesive to apply my DS paper. Along the seam of the card I added a strip of Whisper White Grosgrain ribbon.

I ran Whisper White cardstock through my Big Shot using the Scallop Circle #2 die which has a medium and small scallop. I trimmed the circle into a dress. Then I ran the Dress back through the Big shot using the Texturz plates. That gave my dress more of a lacy bridal feeling. Then I added a ribbon waist band with Rose Red 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I added a half back pearl from the pretties kit at the waist as well.

I stamped one of the sayings (For the Newlyweds) from our new set Teeny Tiny Wishes (#115370) and punched it out with my Word Window Punch. All the stamps in Teeny Tiny fit inside the Word Window Punch which is great, and the cover just about every holiday or occasion you need. There are 24 stamps in the set. It will be available starting July 1st. I backed it with a flower I cut from my Walk in the park paper.
