Retirement Party

I hosted a retirement party recently for my favorite 5 retiring sets. We made 4 different card designs as a stamp-a-stack. Guests enjoyed stamping with my favorites one last time before they retired on the 31st of May!

I had a few more Sneak Peak 3d samples to show everyone as well as card for my stamp club.

Tips for today's cards- use the watercolor wonder to color the rose on the fifth avenue floral set for a smoother colors rose. Dazzling details glitter glue is great for fine details and edging roses!

We used the striped embossing folder for a simple background on my Christmas one.

My favorite Card is using the BFF set and is a square card with a extra long banner strip. I love the Pool Party and Poppy parade color combo! Would not have considered it at all! I will miss all these sets!!

Going fast! Retiring Acessories

The accessory list of all the items that will no longer be sold by Stampin' Up! Is finally live and it is another big list! That makes me excited to see what new accessories will be taking their place when the new Catalog is released on June 1st!
Although the stamp sets are available through May 31st, the accessories WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. For this reason it would be best to order them online at www.Scrappystamper.stanpinup.net! Then you will know right then and there if they are available. Take a quick look at the Clearance items too as they can be combined along with this order. Spend a minimum of $150 and all hostess benefits apply.

Make sure you have all you need for the 2010 - 2012 In Color items as everything associated with those colors will no longer be available (Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz. Blushing Bride, Concord Crush and Peach Parfait).
The entire Decor Elements collection is going away so be sure to check there too (pages 227-234)

When you see the 12 x 12 cardstock and Stampin' Write markers listed, these colors will still be available, they will just be packaged differently (many not sold individually anymore).

As for the Classic ink pads, these colors are not going away, they are just reconfiguring the stamp pads to a firmer foam pad for better coverage, so your current ink pads should be fine.
Any questions please let me know or if you have any trouble placing your order online.

Retired List Live Online

retiredproducts stampin up

Hundreds of stamps and accessories from the 2011-2012 catalogs are retiring, and this is your chance to get them before they're gone. Many products are only available while supplies last, so be sure to get your orders in early!

When you view the retiring stamps list, you may notice it's longer than in years past. During this transition to the new annual catalog, there are a higher number of stamps being refreshed and replaced than usual. While many stamps are going away, most are being replaced so that the breadth of our stamp lines is every bit as broad as ever!

March Stamp Club

My monthly Stamp club met this Friday.  I decided to use a stamp set I had almost overlooked this year from the main catalog.  I chose Paisley Petals and used the coordinating DSP.  I had so much fun creating the club card and the samples for this post!  I think I will be designing a purse to go with this set and creating a private card party based on the set and DSP I love it so much!  Stay tuned for more pictures of that!

This card was simple to create, but did require some patience while coloring.  I loved the color palette on this card, I snagged a few surprise colors which look wonderful with the set!  I used Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Cajun Craze, Peach Parfait, and Old Olive.  I also had to use a small piece of the Calypso Coral SAB ribbon since it is just so shimmery and fun to use and gives the card a bit of sparkle!  We also embossed the black outline of the stamp to make coloring easy.  No ink smears here!

The greeting on this card is one of our wonderful Hostess only sets! To get this little beauty for free, contact me to host a workshop or Private Card Class in your home!

My second card for club was a Clean and Simple Card.  Minimal stamping involved but simple and so pretty!  We used the Attic Boutique DSP which is truly beautiful and I gave it a chance to really shine here!  I do love my new lace ribbon border punch and InColor printed brads.  My stamp set is the Rue de Fleurs card.

Layering & Paper Piecing

This week on Creative-Sketches.com we are doing a layer sketch.  I came up with this as my final card.

I really enjoy tearing paper when I am working with a winter or hilly scene.  I adore this little snowman set, but then I have to admit, I am a sucker for anything with snowmen!  This set is called Snow Much Fun (#122562)  So I took our sketch of the week, then added a wonderful snowy background with my Northern Flurry Big Shot Embossing Folder. (#120902)  I flipped it around and sponged the back-the part with the dembossed side-so that the snowflakes would remain white and the paper would take the Bashful Blue ink color.  I really like this little technique because it is not the normal approach to using this embossing folder.

My tip when doing this: Use dimensionals to lift the embossing folder so that the impression does not get destroyed.

Then I stamped my images a few times on different pieces of paper.  You can use Designer Series Paper to do this as well and to great affect, but for my image it worked best with solid cardstock. I colored my images with markers and cut it all out to assemble it.

The bird and the snowman got stamped directly on my white background so that I could have the legs and arms on the cardstock and not trim around them.  They are really just too small to cut out effectively even using the Paper Snips, which in my opinion are the best little scissors for cutting.  I also highlighted portions of my image with our new glitter glue!  So easy to use, and what a cute effect!

So, now you know what I did, what will you create this week?  Enter your card on our challenge blog!
