I adore watercolors! When I was in college as an illustration major, my media of choice was always watercolors. I am always happy to spend some time with my trusty aqua painters. The colors of my pictures below are a tad off, so think Tempting Turquoise, Pear Pizzaz, and Poppy Parade.
This is the Happy Together stamp set, which has the most adorable little birds. I painted their bodies with Tempting Turquoise using multiple coats. I liked that the stazon covered by the ink, just looks like a rich dark blue, and I can still see the details for the feathers. It is important to let things dry between coats. I also let everything dry and then did a light wash of pear pizzaz at then end for my ground. I used my marker tip to color in the beaks and go over the feet so they were peach parfait instead of black.

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

I would like to try and stretch myself a little more, so I am going to start participating in weekly challenges. I will also start hosting some of my own probably in August, so be ready to post your results here! Today is my first time trying the Mojo Monday Challenge. They are pretty popular, so we'll see how I do.
Tonight I used Embrace Life, a favorite set of mine. I decided to use the single stem, which I rarely use. I also texturized the background Kraft Card stock using my wonderful Big Shot. I colored in the images using the new In-Color Markers, and then highlighted them with Crystal Effects. The sheen on the flowers might not becoming through in the photo. I popped the images using various layers with Dimensionals. I really like the combination of Dusty Durango, Kraft, and Soft Suede
I will probably revisit this again during the week, but for now, here is my Challenge Entry.

Diva Coffee Break Challenge #135
I am not a Diva myself but I decided to participate in their weekly challenge using the New In Colors and the New Stamps sets. I know I will be adding more of these challenges to my schedule. For more wonderful challenges, check out their site.
Here is the sketch I worked from.

Here is my completed Card.

I chose one of my personal favorites, the Wings of Friendship, a Hostess Level 2 set. I used the wonderful new In Color Markers to color my bird image and my saying. I found it really easy to get a really incredible flower by coloring my lighter marker first, and then my darker color second for the flower image. I might not want to make 25 of these, but for one or two, it is well worth the effort to control the stamp with my marker.
Ingredient List
Stamp Set:Wings of Friendship
Paper: Razzleberry Lemonade DS paper, Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, and Whisper White
Inks:Dusty Durango
Accessories: In Color Markers, Clear Rhineston BRads, Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, and Snail Adhesive & Dimensionals.
