Creative-sketches celebration challenge

This week at Creative-Sketches.com, we are trying out a Celebration and Holiday Challenge.  I really love the Strength and Hope stamp set from Stampin' Up!, and love that $2 from the sale of this set supports Breast Cancer Research. This is not the best picture, so you can't really see the sparkly Rhinestone Brads for the butterfly body.  I'll have to try again!

The color combination on this one is Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzaz, and Marina Mist. Simple, and lovely.  My sketch this week is turned vertically from the challenge, but try it out and see what you can come up with!

Creative Sketches Week 2- Color Challenge

This week at Creative-Sketches.com we were working on a color Challenge with Black, White, and Brushed Silver.  I love the a la carte stamps Stampin Up! carries in the back of each Mini catalog and in the Main one, so I wanted to highlight one of the newest ones, Be My Valentine # 122045

I chose Basic Black Cardstock and ran it through my polka dots embossing folder.  Then I took my Brushed Silver cardstock and scalloped each edge with my scallop border punch.  I inked up my stamp twice, and stamped on my whisper white cardstock with Basic Black ink, and then on scrap with Real red ink for a very subtle pop of color.  I trimmed out my Valentine Sash, and mounted it on my card with dimensionals.  Before I attached the silver and white pieces, I carefully added a Basic Black taffeta ribbon around the edge of my card and adhered my bow with a mini glue dot.  I love that stuff.  You can't really see it in the picture, but I also added two rhinestones to the smaller flowers on the top half of the heart.  I do love a little bling! I think the overall look is very elegant, but somewhat masculine because of the color palette.

What can you make with just Black, White, and Silver?  Pop over to Creative-Sketches.com and post your link!  Can't wait to see what you make!

Inkspirations Challenge #50

I saw this Inkspirations Colour Challenge pop up on one of the other blogs I follow, and I had to give it a try!  I really love this stamp set (Apple Blossoms - Hostess Level 2 in the Stampin Up Idea Book and catalog), but have not used it before today. I don't know why it has taken me 4 months to get it out, silly me; this set is awesome!  I am going to make more cards with it now!
I think this color challenge of Pear Pizzaz, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, and Rich Razzleberry worked well for a fresh, bright, and happy card.  I've been doing a lot of Christmas and holiday stamping, so it was really fun doing something not holiday focused. I loved that I was able to use existing scraps for the bulk of the card.  It is always fun to create something lovely from a small pile of scrap paper!

I used a scrap of Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain ribbon, as well as a Rhinestone brad in my folded large oval punch.  I also colored the saying with a marker to get just the one word and punched it with my trusty word window punch.

Open house Treat Sneak Peak

I wanted to share these two cute little Treat holders I created for my open house. These are great for any occasions, but i made halloween and christmas treat holders.

All you need is a stamp set for any occasion, and the tags die for the big shot. (cut paper to 4.5x3) It is a simple but adorable candy holder that goes together very quickly! Choose any embellishments you want. Mini glue dots work well to adhere the candy to the treat.

Easter Basket

I went to an Demonstrator support meeting last night and one of the ladies brought a wonderful basket to demo for the Round Robin. I thought it was just darling, so I went home right away and made on of my own! I also stamped 4 little cards to go inside the basket. Pair this with a few little candies and you will have a wonderful gift for a friend.

To make your own Basket, you need;

A Stamp Set-I used Vintage Vogue and Teeny Tiny Wishes and the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel
The Big Shot Scallop Envelope Die
Shades of Spring, or other DS paper
2 brads for the handles
4- 3x3 envelopes
A Flower from the Pretties kit-I punched out a center from DS paper using my 1" punch.
various shades of cardstock to match your DS paper-I used So Saffron, Certainly Celery, and Pretty in Pink.
and a few other embellishments, ribbons, and adhesives.

Click on the shopping link on the side to visit my demonstrator website and buy the materials to make a basket of your own, or you can order a kit from me for $10 for a Gift Basket Kit. All materials will be cut and ready for you to stamp and assemble. You will have enough materials to assemble 1 basket and 4 cards as well as a pdf tutorial file to make your basket.

Vintage Vogue

This wonderful set is from the new mini catalog.I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, and as I wad wondering around on the Internet I was delighted with the creations people have made with it. Here is my contribution to this stamp set!

I was trying out a new color combinaton recommended in this month's Stampin Success magazine I get as a demonstrator. I used So Saffron, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, and Rich Razzleberry. I also used the very vintage jumbo wheel. I used my trusty Big Shot for the Scallop #2 die.

I just love this business!! Such great products and tools to help us share the products and enthusiasm with all of you.

J If you can't find your Mini catalog, follow this link to view a pdf, or shop online at my website. I want one of everything in it!

Diva Coffee Break Challenge #135

I am not a Diva myself but I decided to participate in their weekly challenge using the New In Colors and the New Stamps sets. I know I will be adding more of these challenges to my schedule. For more wonderful challenges, check out their site.

Here is the sketch I worked from.

Here is my completed Card.

I chose one of my personal favorites, the Wings of Friendship, a Hostess Level 2 set. I used the wonderful new In Color Markers to color my bird image and my saying. I found it really easy to get a really incredible flower by coloring my lighter marker first, and then my darker color second for the flower image. I might not want to make 25 of these, but for one or two, it is well worth the effort to control the stamp with my marker.

Ingredient List
Stamp Set:Wings of Friendship
Paper: Razzleberry Lemonade DS paper, Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, and Whisper White
Inks:Dusty Durango
Accessories: In Color Markers, Clear Rhineston BRads, Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, and Snail Adhesive & Dimensionals.
