Nautical Masculine card

Monday I got to spend a few hours with a good fried making on board journals using the nautical expedition DSP, the Open Sea set, and Sail Away. They turned out so wonderful, and I completely forgot to take pictures!! Her family will be using them on their upcoming sailing trip. Such a wonderful gift.

While we were working, I created this masculine nautical card using The Open Sea, and Word Play. I love the card, and will probably be sending this to a wonderful guy in my life!! It would also be a great graduation card too. Hmmm, the possibilities!

Week 2 - color challenge

This week at Creative-Sketches.com, our weekly challenge is a color challenge. We are using Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede, and Whisper White! What a fun summery color combo.

I went with my new set, On The Grow, #123077-clear. I love that I can use my watercolor paper and aqua painter on this set. So fun! It makes me long for a Vespa.  I also used my brand new, and sadly about to retire background stamp, Sanded from the 2010-2011 Idea book.  Check out the Retiring List on my site for other wonderful stamps and accessories by Stampin Up! that are about to retire.

Try this color combination and see what you can make at Creative-Sketches.com.

Week 1 sketch- summer mini

I love the weekly sketches, for no other reason than getting the creative juices going.

This week I did a sketch layout from creative-sketches.com, with my new stamp set from the Stampin Up Summer Mini Touch of Kindness,#123203- clear. I adore cats, so when I saw the set, I had to have it!! Plus, I love to color, always love a session of coloring therapy! I also used my newest Big Shot die, with two scalloped squares.  They are absolutely wonderful! The designer series paper is the flip side of the fantastic Play Date Designer Series paper, which is on sale and will be retiring at the end of the Month.  Supplies for this paper are limited, so order soon!

My posting this month has been a bit slow, but please visit Creative-sketches.com to try our weekly challenges!  We have a new one each week.

Creative-sketches celebration challenge

This week at Creative-Sketches.com, we are trying out a Celebration and Holiday Challenge.  I really love the Strength and Hope stamp set from Stampin' Up!, and love that $2 from the sale of this set supports Breast Cancer Research. This is not the best picture, so you can't really see the sparkly Rhinestone Brads for the butterfly body.  I'll have to try again!

The color combination on this one is Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzaz, and Marina Mist. Simple, and lovely.  My sketch this week is turned vertically from the challenge, but try it out and see what you can come up with!

Color Challenge - Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry, and Peach Parfait

Another fun Color Challenge this month from Creative-Sketches.com.  I used my new Touch of Kindness set from the Stampin Up! Summer Mini.  I absolutely love cats, and so do both of my daughters.  I know they will be all over this stamp as soon as I let them in my stamp room!

Come on over to the challenge site, and submit your card or scrapbook page, using this color combination.  Summer, and fresh.  I would not have put these three colors together!

Creative Sketches Design Challenge

My new box arrive this week with my pre order materials from the Summer Mini Catalog.  Yeah!  I adore all my new toys. This card uses the fabulous Florets Stamp set. I didn't use my coordinating paper or embossing folder yet, but believe me, they are coming soon!

My sketch this week from Creative-Sketches.com was a fun and simple sketch.

I almost turned the sketch horizontally, but decided to try and plan it as intended.  I'd love to see what you can make with it, so pop over and submit your designs.  Can't wait to see what you make.

Summer Mini Card - SCCSC27

I demonstrated this card at a workshop Saturday using supplies from the summer mini.  It was simple to put together and would be easy to duplicate and make multiples! I almost never tear paper for my cards but I had fun doing it this time. (Thank you to the  inspiration from our monthly Demonstrators magazine and our online Facebook like community for Demonstrators!) I just love using both sides on my Big Shot Lattice embossing folder!

I am really going to miss these stamp set at the end of the month!  I used a saying from Favorite Thoughts, and my favorite summer set, Tropical Party, with the coordinating Designer Series Paper.  To order these, visit my store online before August 31, 2010 or they will be gone!

Stamp Club Framed Art

I am crazy about the Tropical themed paper and stamp sets in the Summer Mini catalog.  I just can't stop stamping with it!  and I saw some even more ideas to make last night at  local Demonstrators meeting with my Upline.

At my club last week we made this framed art.  I took a 5x7 picture frame and designed this beach "scene"  My favorite part about this was making the slighlty fussy but really neat shaker element.  I used real beach sand and our window sheets and foam sticky strips to create a sealed shaker.  You could do confetti, micro beads, glitter, or anything else you wanted, and it could be any size you wanted as long as you could seal it up with sticky foam!

Go Graduate Card #2

Another card made using go Graduate. I'll be teach a Watercolor Technique class in June to help with watercolor basics. I'll also be doing a Dad Grad card class on June 12th. We will be using this set.

Scrapbook Photo Purse Class

Thank you for the inspiration for this from this fantastic blog! This is a great gift idea as well as a fun new idea for carrying your photos of your family around.

It needs lots of pieces but overall is a simple concept. Two envelopes (Medium Whisper White Envelopes #107301) make the purse. I used Kraft cardstock scored in the middle to make the connecting hinge between the two envelopes. I used two pieces of DS paper with a notch cut out with a 1 1/4" circle punch to allow souvenirs inside the envelope. I placed pictures on the inside with stamped images & flowers cut out from So Saffron, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I also used the Bigz die for flower which were lightly distressed and sponged. On the front, ds paper, a top note die stamped and scored made the flap. I used jumbo grommets and grosgrain ribbon as a handle. The front also had a flower and corduroy button held on with a pop up glue dot.
